Once you have sheen you can play a little more agressive and start poking your laner. The only way for you to die is if you mess up your positioning, barrel mechanics or by a dive of the enemy team, but remember, it is hard to dive you with Ultimate, Exaust and Orange. It is OK to loose some minions, but it isn't OK to loose EXP, so use your Barrels and even your Ultimate to prevent freezes.
Let the wave crash under your Turret so you can call your Jungle to gank if the circunstances are favorable. Gangplank should now be played like a Nasus in the early game: you are squishy and quite vunerable, the difference is that you can still farm, so stay reasonably far from the wave and use your Q if you can't reach it normally. If you farm well enough, by Level 13 you should have the 3 first items already built, and your barrels already can already remove 80% HP from almost anyone on critical strikes. This build is indeed the Build that maximizes Critical damage, Critical chance, Bonus AD and Armor Penetration, all at the same time. Gathering Storm is the rune that allows you to carry in the lategame. You must also get the 8 Haste in the minor runes to this to be a reality. Trancendence yields 10 Haste by level 8, allowing you to reach 73 Haste by the time you build Essence Reaver, Lucidity Boots and Muramana.
Magical Footwear saves you 300 Gold while also giving you 10 extra MS, very valuable, specially after the Passive nerfs.Īpproach Velocity increases your MS by 7.5% for enemy champions that are CC'd, 15% if it's you and your barrels, completely negates Passive nerfs, very useful for combo follow ups.īiscuits combined with Tear allows you to farm with your Q for extended periods of time in the early game, while also increasing your Mana by 150 after all tree biscuits are consumed, meaning Muramana's passive will also give you 3.75 AD for this rune, neat. Exaust will cut their damage and screw their capacity to run away, giving you a huge card to play once they think they have you. It's primary function is to be able to use Exaust to prevent dives in the Toplane, as most champions such as Riven and Renekton can easily kill you under tower if you misplay just a little bit. Unsealed Spellbook is one of the most useful runes that I've ever played on Gangplank because of the huge potential that it has.
